130 VHP activists arrested in Tripura

Agartala, Jul 3 (UNI) The BJP-VHP-sponsored 12-hour 'Bharat Bandh' failed to leave any impact on Tripura today.

About 130 supporters and activists of the Vishwa Hindu Parisad (VHP) were arrested across the state, official sources said.

The bandh was called to protest the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) land issue.

No untoward incident was reported.

Movement of traffic was normal, while business establishments and financial institutions functioned as usual.

VHP supporters had organised protest rallies in different parts of the state.
