Sir David Attenborough awarded honorary degree
London, July 2 : Veteran naturalist and broadcaster Sir David Attenborough has been awarded an honorary degree of Doctor of Science by University of Aberdeen.
The delighted octogenarian told the audience at the summer graduation ceremonies about his "very happy" career in which he "filmed birds of prey and sat with the gorillas".
Attenborough described the award as a "great honour", and joked about how it was "very nice that the Scots should honour a Sassenach".
He also opened up about his views on education and entertainment, reports the Daily Express.
"I think education and entertainment should be indivisible," he said.
"I make natural history programmes because they are interesting and tell you something about the world, but also because they are fun."
