Patan gangrape victim faints, hospitalised
Ahmedabad, Jun 29: The Patan victim, who was sexually abused by six of her teachers, was rushed to Ahmedabad Civil Hospital last night as she fell unconscious after meeting her parents.
There were rumours that she had made a suicidal attempt. Hospital authorities are trying to find out whether she tried to commit suicide or not. Police says that too much of stress is reason for her collapse. Considering her traumatic condition and importance in the gangrape case, the police have provided her with round-the-clock security.
Last week, in her hostel room at Primary Teachers College, Patan, a suicide note was found in which she had written that she was fed up with life and was undergoing trauma after she was gangraped by her teachers. She had made-off from her home and a court gave her custody to an Ahmedabad-based NGO Navasarjan Trust.
Her relationship with her father is said to be strained. Three days ago she had a tiff with her father and she left the house in rage with her two police escorts.
Her parents came to meet her in Ahmedabad yesterday evening.
During the meeting she fainted.
A trial court will begin her cross examination in gangrape case and it will be held on July 1. The details of multiple gangrape on her by Primary Teachers, Patan came to the light in the first week of February last.
