BJP to launch countrywide stir if land meant for shrine taken back
Ranchi, Jun 29 (UNI) BJP president Rajnath Singh today threatened to launch a countrywide agitation if the transfer of land to the Amarnath Shrine Board was abandoned under political pressure.
With the PDP pulling out of the Gulam Nabi Azad-led coaltion government, reducing it to minority in the 87-member Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, Mr Singh said the Centre should immediately impose President's rule to avoid further deterioration of the law and order situation in the valley.
At the conclusion of the party's two-day state executive committee meeting here, Mr Singh urged the government to ensure safety of the pilgrims.
He urged the Centre to step up security so that the pilgrimage was not affected by the ongoing political turmoil in the valley.
