Congress for strict action against 'fundamentalists' in Goa
Panaji, Jun 28 (UNI) The Congress today sought stern action against the fundamentalist forces that were out to disrupt peace and tranquility in the traditionally harmonious state of Goa.
Interacting with mediapersons here, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee spokesman Jitendra Deshprabhu said the government had been keeping a vigil against ''infiltration of fundamentalist elements that owed allegiance to the BJP and its counterparts'' and was determined to act tough with them.
He also complimented the Digambar Kamat government for its prompt action in dealing with the disruptive forces at Margao in South Goa, preventing a major conflagration.
Mr Deshprabhu, also urged the people to resist these forces outright before they played any havoc.
