Kala Parishad to organise folk dance competitions
Chandigarh, June 26 (UNI) The Haryana Kala Parishad has decided to organise division and state level Haryanavi Folk Dance competitions.
While giving this information here today, a spokesman of the Kala Parishad said that the groups securing first and second positions at divisional level would be given a cash prize of Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively, besides a certificate and a memento.
He said that only such groups as would get first and second positions at divisional level would be allowed to take part in the State level competition and the groups getting first, second and third position in this competition would be given a cash prize of Rs one lakh, Rs 75,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively, besides a certificate and a memento.
He pointed out that the number of artistes in a group taking part in the competition should not exceed 15 including dancer, singer, musician and group leader. The dancers in the group should be between 15 and 25 years of age, he added.
Each group taking part in the competitions would be given a sum of Rs 5000 by the Parishad to meet their travelling and boarding expenses, he added.
