BLI, Nasscom to offer UltraKey software to NGOs

New Delhi, Jun 24 (UNI) Bytes of Learning Inc (BLI) and NASSCOM Foundation today said they will offer the former's UltraKey typing instruction software to non-profit groups and community organisations.

''Many disadvantaged people stand to benefit from this collaborative effort, which will impart touch-typing skills free of cost,'' a statement said.

BLI will be the second donor, apart from software giant Microsoft to distribute free software. Microsoft has already donated software worth 3,31,472 dollars through the BiG Tech program to various NGOs in India.

BiG Tech assists NGOs and charities access free software,hardware and other philanthropic donations.

The UltraKey software provides high quality keyboarding instruction with teacher-friendly management tools, thereby enabling users to quickly improve not only on their typing skills but also overall communication skills.

The donated product will be distributed under this programme to the qualifying organisations only, and not to individuals.

NGOs with annual budgets of 10,00,000 dollars or less are eligible to avail of this donation.

Each qualifying organisation may request a single donation within a fiscal year -- July 1 to June 30 next year.

While the target is to take this initiative across India, to begin with the focus will be on cities like Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore.
