Pvt Medical Colleges facing dearth of faculty: Minister

Mysore, Jun 22: Many private medical colleges in the state were facing a shortage of teaching faculty and lacked adequate infrastructure facilities, according to Karnataka Medical Education Minister Ramachandregowda.

Speaking at a function at the Ayurveda Medical College here last night, he asked the private college managements to take necessary steps in this regard.

He assured that the government would soon take steps to tide over the faculty shortage for the three-year Post-Graduate courses (MD Medicines) at the college.

A complex, housing a hall, library and museum, would be built at a cost of Rs 2.2 crore as part of the centenary celebrations of the Ayurveda Medical College.
