Intelligence sleuths foil attempt to smuggle consignment
Ramanathapuram, Jun 19 (UNI) Intelligence sleuths foiled an attempt to smuggle a consignment to Sri Lanka and arrested two Lankan nationals suspected to be members of LTTE at Muniyaiah Koil seashore near here today.
Police seized the consignment containing six cans of Resin, nine rolls of Silicon Mats and two cans of highly toxic acid meant for being smuggled to Sri Lanka. Investigations were on, the sources added.
The seizure was affected following a tip-off by a special ''Q'' branch police team on the seashore.
The two arrested, R Sekhar (26) and N Muruganandam (28) hailed from Talaimannar in Sri Lanka.
