MP Govt gives relief in prices of cooking gas and diesel
Bhopal, June 18 (UNI) The BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh Government today announced a relief of Rs 10 per cylinder on cooking gas by relaxing entry tax and 61 paise per litre on diesel by reducing Value Added Tax (VAT) by two per cent, official sources said.
After the Centre hiked the price of petroleum products, cooking gas had started costing Rs 385 per cylinder.
Commercial Tax Minister Babulal Gaur said the government was committed to provide relief to people facing the burnt of rising inflation. Relief in price of cooking gas and diesel had been done with this objective. The relief would be effective from today.
No relief has been provided in price of petrol.
