Postmortem on BJP MLA wife conducted, body being taken to Udupi

New Delhi, Jun 16 (UNI) Postmortem was today conducted on the body of Karnataka Bharatiya Janata Party legislator Raghupathy Bhatt's wife Padmapriya, at the Safdarjung Hospital here.

The postmortem report was yet to be prepared. It would take some time, said the police.

Meanwhile, the body of Padmapriya has been taken to the AIIMS for embalming.

This, the police said, was necessary because it had to be taken to Udupi in Karnataka.

The body will be taken to Udupi, where the Bhatt couple lived, for the last rites.

Ms Padmapriya, who went missing on June 11, was yesterday found dead in an apartment in south-west Delhi's Dwarka Sector 10.

A police official had said prima facie it appeared to be a case of suicide.
