Shahdol to be made new division: Chouhan

Shahdol, MP, Jun 14 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today announced that Shahdol would be formally constituted into a new division comprising Shahdol, Umaria, Annupur and Dindori districts.

Mr Chouhan, while addressing a 'Mahila Sammelan' here, announced allotment of Rs one crore for developing the infrastructure here. He introduced Arun Tiwari as the first Divisional Commissioner and P R Mathur as the Inspector General of Police of Shahdol.

Acceding to the request of MLA Chhotelal Sarawgi, he declared that Budhar sub-tahsil would be provided the status of a tahsil.

Women and Child Development Minister Kusum Mehdele, Narmada Valley Development Minister Meena Singh and State Women's Commission members were also present.
