Minister asks employees to call off proposed pendown strike tomorrow
Panaji, Jun 12 (UNI) Goa power minister Alexieo Sequeira today appealed to the government employees to call off or defer the proposed one-day pen down strike tomorrow, with the government sympathetically considering their demand for parity in wages.
Justifying his action to hike the wages of the power engineers who had always been on field duty, the Minister told mediapersons that the employees demand, if considered in toto, would cost the state exchqeuer a whopping a couple of hundreds of crores of rupees.
With government examining their demand, it would be prudent of the employees to either postpone the proposed strike or call it off, he added.
