Monsoon advances in Goa, Konkan region, heavy rains forecast

Panaji, Jun 7 (UNI) Heavy rains lashed the tourist state and Konkan region today, disrupting normal life, with further advancement of monsoon.

Met department has forecast heavy rains with thundershowers in the next 48 hOUrs and warned fishermen against venturing into the sea.

Several low lying areas had been inundated and trees uprooted at different places in South Goa.

The state has received 89.1 mm rainfall in the last 24 hours, raising the total seasonal rainfall to 250.5 mm so far.
