BMC school students to get free sports gear

Mumbai, Jun 6 (UNI) Students studying in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation-run schools will receive sports kit this year after the Standing Committee of the BMC today cleared a proposal for the same.

In a standing committee meeting here, the proposal for providing sports kit worth Rs 4.92 crore, was passed by the ruling Shiv Sena- BJP combine, which enjoys a majority in the BMC.

The students will be getting sports shoes, kits for various outdoor games and other items, which will help them to do well in various sports.

BMC is currently having talks about providing coaching to the students, in sports, which will be finalised in some time.
