Coal Ventures assured of coking coal linkages from Australia
New Delhi, June 3 (UNI) India will get access to coking coal mines in New South Wales in Australia.
This assurance was given to visiting Minister of State for Steel Jitin Prasada during his meeting with Mr Ian MacDonald, NSW Minister for Primary Industries, Energy, Mineral Resources and State Development today.
During the meeting between the two, Mr MacDonald assured full cooperation to Mr Prasada's request for allocation of mineral resources for the recently-constituted Coal Ventures International.
Coal Ventures International is a joint venture of Steel Authority of India Ltd, Rashtirya Ispat Nigam Ltd, Coal India Ltd, NMDC and National Thermal Power Corporation.
Mr Prasada is currently heading a five-member delegation to Australia.
The delegation visited coal mines near Sydney and Wollongong/Port Kembla Coal Terminal from where a sizeable amount of NSW coking coal is shipped to India.
