One killed, 12 injured in accident involving bus and truck

Sangrur, Jun 2 (UNI) One person was killed and 12 others were injured when a mini bus in which they were travelling today turned turtle after being hit by a truck at Mahilan Chowk in the district.

According to the police, the driver of the private mini bus apparently lost control as he was talking on phone while driving the vehicle at high speed.

The bus, which hit a police checkpost, was immediately hit by a truck coming closely behind and turned turtle on impact.

In the accident, Binder Pal Singh, a resident of Nagara, died on the spot while 12 injured people were rushed to Sangrur Civil Hospital.

Police have registered cases against both absconding drivers.
