6 killed, 3 injured after vehicle skids off road

Dehra Dun, Jun 2 (UNI) Six people were killed and three injured when the vehicle they were travelling in veered off the road near Uttarkashi today.

According to Uttarakashi police, the private vehicle was on its way from Yamunotri to Gangotri when due to a mechanical failure, it skidded off the road around 1030 hrs this morning.

Four people died on the spot while two breathed their last after they were admitted to a nearby hospital. Meanwhile, the condition of three passengers was stated to be critical.

The nine passengers were coming from Yamunotri after 'darshan' and were heading towards Gangotri, police added.
