Woman, among three killed, in Jammu road accidents

Jammu, Jun 1 (UNI) Three people, including a woman, were killed in different road accidents in Jammu division for the last 24 hours, police here today said.

Gurmeet Kour, wife of Mohinder Singh, was declared brought dead when the motorcycle, they were travelling in, was hit by a speeding tanker. The couple, residents of Chatha in the city outskirts, was on their way back from Satwari.

Police said woman succumbed to injuries on her way to hospital while her husband was admitted in the hospital in critical condition.

A case has been registered under sections 279/337 RPC against FIR no 85/08, police told UNI.

In another road incident, a motorcyclist died on the spot when the vehicle skidded off the road and turned turtle at Nagrota Preta in Kathua district. The deceased has been identified as Farid, a resident of Nai Basti, Punjab.

Meanwhile, one Balkar Singh, resident of Janglote Kathua, who was admitted in Government Medical College, Jammu on May 27 after being injured in road accident, breathed his last.
