Govt to provide health cards to students: Edu Minister

Thiruvananthapuram, May 31 (UNI) Kerala Education Minister M A Baby today said the government would provide health cards to the students of Government schools in the state.

Talking to newspersons here, he said the card would be issued to students according to their physical fitness and the grade would be in four categories depending uponn their fitness.

The scheme of issuing cards would be implemented jointly by Health and Education Departments.

Earlier, the Health and Sports Education Syllabus Committee had submitted its recommendations to the Education Minister stating that these two should be included in the syllabus of teaching, to ensure total physical fitness of students.

Mr Baby said the syllabus would be included in this academic year itself and sufficient physical education teachers would be appointed.
