3 killed, 4 hurt as truck hits tractor

Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, May 31 (UNI) Three people were killed and four injured when a iron rod-laden truck, in which they were travelling, collided with a tractor on the national highway near Ravulapalem, 52 kms from here, and fell into River Godavari in the early hours today.

In the impact, the trailer got separated from the truck. The tractor was badly mangled, police said.

The victims, hailing from A Kothapalli Village, had boarded the truck near Annavaram for proceeding to Peravali for tamarind business.

The bodies were retrieved and sent for post-mortems. The injured, including the lorry cleaner and drivers of both the truck and tractor, were rushed to Rajahmundry Government Hospital after first aid.
