Sun brings back scorching heat in Delhi, rain forecast on weekend
New Delhi, May 30 (UNI) Bright sun appearing on the skyline today brought back scorching heat to Delhi even as weathermen forecast some cool weather towards the weekend due to more spells of rain and thundershowers.
With the sun shining clear and bright, the maximum temperature remained at about yesterday's level, dropping just slightly to 37.7 degrees Celsius.
However, a sharp rise in humidity forced Delhiites to stay indoors.
Cool weather is, however, expected towards the weekend with the weathermen forecasting rain and thundershowers accompanied with thundersquall over the Northwest India during the next 48 hours.
''Under the influence of a North-South trough over Pakistan and an Upper air cyclonic circulation over Haryana and neighbourhood, isolated rain or thundershowers accompanied with thundersquall are likely over Northwest India during the next 48 hrs,'' the Met office said.
The Met office has forecast a partly cloudy sky in the capital during the next 24 hours with duststorms and thunderstorms in some areas accompanied by squalls.
