SCR cancells passenger trains for two days

Vijayawada, May 30 (UNI) The Vijayawada division of South Central Railway (SCR) has cancelled six passenger trains today and tomorrow following damage of panel and signalling systems between Vetapalam, Chinaganjam and Chirala stations due to yesterday's heavy rains.

The trains cancelled today in the Vijayawada-Chennai section included Vijayawada-Ongole Passenger, Vijayawada-Bitragunta Passenger and Gudur-Vijayawada Passenger.

The passenger trains between Ongole-Vijayawada, Gudur-Vijayawada and Vijayawada-Gudur will not run tomorrow, a railway official told UNI here.

Following the non-functioning of signalling system, superfast trains like Coromandel Express and Janashatabadi Express arrived Vijayawada station behind schedule, the official added.

The signalling system would be restored by tomorrow night, he said.
