Fraudulent draw in Dimapur bank

Kohima, May 30 (UNI) Unidentified miscreants withdrew Rs 16 lakh from a reputed bank of Dimapur recently.

Police is investigating the case to apprehend the miscreants.

Official sources said the miscreants had deposited a bogus draft amounting to Rs 16 lakh of the Federal Bank in a dormant account of a person from Karbi Anglong district of Assam, who has his account with that branch of Dimapur.

The same day, the depositor withdrew the accounts without any doubt of the bank employees. The fake draft was detected at the time of tallying the day's account in the evening and accordingly police was informed.

No arrest has so far been made. However, police investigation was on to identify the actual owner of the account where the draft was deposited.
