Sirsa to have an International Cricket Stadium soon
Hisar, May 29 (UNI) The international-level Cricket Stadium being built here would be ready by September this year to host a 20-20 Cricket Tournament in which teams from the famous Cricket Clubs of France, Pakistan and South Africa will participate.
The stadium being constructed under the aegis of JCD National Cricket Academy, would have facilities as per the international standards comparable with the best cricket grounds of the world, Prof Dr Kuldip Singh Dhindsa Director General of JCD Vidyapeeth told reporters here today.
He further informed that the day-night international cricket tournament could be played on this ground under the flood lights imported from America. In view of the uncertain weather conditions in Haryana, provision has been made for Indoor matches, he added.
The stadium would be able to accommodate about 20,000 spectators and all the dressing rooms would be completely air-conditioned.
Mr Digvijay Singh Chautala, chairman of the Academy, said 40 players from the Academy have been selected for training by experienced Australian Coaches.
In July, 12 best among these players, would be playing against the County teams of England like those from Hampshire, Sussex and Yorkshire, he said.
