Indian Institute of Jewellery holds 4th Convocation
Mumbai, May 29 (UNI) The Indian Institute of Jewellery (IIJ) held its 4th convocation ceremony with 2,077 students conferred certificates here today.
Speaking at the function, Tanishq Vice President Govind Raj, who was Chief Guest, said ''The jewellery industry is seeing unprecedented change, with the value chain getting redefined.
Jewellery design is becoming a major career option for the young with jewellery manufacturing operations being consolidated and modernised.
Jewellery retailing was also getting organised and industry leaders were working closely with the government to confer industry status for the sector.'' The convocation was followed by an exhibition of jewellery designs, created by the students, at the Institute's Modern Centre, which will be open till June 1, a release said here.
