Big production studio of DD in Leh soon, Lalli

Leh, May 29 (UNI) To promote Ladakhi culture and language, the Prasar Bharati has constructed a big production studio of the Doordarshan here.

The studio will be inaugurated soon, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Prasar Bharati B S Lalli said in his address after Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad inaugurated a satellite uplink and FM transmitter, which would enhance the reach of the world's highest radio station at Leh.

Mr Lalli described the launch of the satellite uplink and FM transmitter as the auspicious occasion for the people of Leh.

He said a big production studio of the Doordarshan would soon be inaugurated here, which would promote Ladakhi culture and language.

He also said new transmitters would be set up in the shadow areas to enhance the reach of radio broadcast.

Member of Parliament from Ladakh Thupstan Chewang emphasised on effectively countering the propaganda from the neighbouring countries through radio and television.

He added AIR, Leh, had promoted the local culture and language.
