Vikas Yadav files application in Nitish Katara murder case

New Delhi, May 26 (UNI) An application was filed by accused in the Nitish Katara murder case Vikas Yadav in a local court today under sec 311 CrPC for summoning of witnesses Subhas Yadav, Ajay Katara and Tanu, wife of Ajay Katara.

Vikas , son of former MP D P Yadav, filed the application before Additional Special Judge Rajinder Kaur.

The Defence Counsel argued that the contents of the affidavit filed by Ajay Katara on May 24 are false and the various allegations made about the threat given by D P Yadav to him, in regard to kidnapping of his son, were absolutely false.

The Counsel further argued that Subhash Yadav, who is appearing in the CD has no connection with the case pending in the court and he will depose true facts about the contents of the affidavit filed by Ajay Katara.

Nitish Katara, son of an IAS officer, was allegedly killed by Vikas Yadav and Vishal Yadav, nephew of D P Yadav on the intervening night of February 16-17, 2002.

The duo abducted Nitish Katara from a marriage party at Ghaziabad as they did not approve of his close relation with their sister Bharti Yadav.

After hearing the arguments, the court adjourned the matter till May 27.
