UPA-Left meet on Indo-US nuke pact put off
New Delhi, May 26 (UNI) The meeting of the UPA-Left Coordination Committee on the Indo-US nuclear deal, scheduled for May 28, has been postponed, CPI(M) sources said today.
''New date has not been informed by the Government but the panel's 9th meeting could take place now on June 11,'' they said.
Though the Left sources attributed the deferment to the Government, significantly the Forward Bloc had recently sought its suspension, saying it would be a ''futile" exercise as there was no 'meeting point' on the issue between the two sides.
The Government was arguing for the deal, while the Left has been persistently opposing it.
