Signs of reconciliation over post-mortem of firing victims
Jaipur, May 26 (UNI) In a significant sign of reconciliation, Gujjar Reservation Action Committee Convenor Col Kirodi Singh Bainsla said Gujjars were ready to hand over bodies of firing victims to doctors for the post-mortem at the dharna site itself.
Action Committee leader and Col Bainsla's close confidant Roop Singh told UNI that the doctors were likely to perform the post-mortem at the dharna site in Pillukapura tomorrow.
A spokesman for the government said if the agitating Gujjar leaders agreed to it, the government would arrange for post-mortem at the site itself.
Earlier in the day, Health Minister Narpat Singh Rajvi and PWD Minister Rajendra Singh Rathore were opposing the idea of post-mortem at the site.
In another positive development, Col Bainsla has also "welcomed" the state government's move of writing letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today over the Gujjar reservation issue.
However, Mr Roop singh did not confirm reports, in a section of media about possibility of calling off the stir after the state government's move.
