Fresh cheating case against godman
Kochi, May 26 (UNI) Kerala Police have registered a fresh case of cheating and criminal breach of trust against self-styled godman Amritachaitanya alias Santosh Madhavan, who was arrested earlier this month for allegedly raping minor girls and financial fraud.
Senior police officials said a case under section 420 IPC had been registered against Madhavan for allegedly misusing funds of Shantitheeram Charitable Trust for his real estate transactions.
Madhavan was arrested by police on May 13 after NRI businesswoman Serafin Edwin filed a complaint about him cheating her of Rs 40 lakh in 2002. On searching his residence here, police found CDs of pornographic films. Further investigation revealed that he had allegedly raped minor girls and exploited them to make the films.
He is presently in judicial custody.
