Elected JD(S) leaders to meet tomorrow
Bangalore, May 26 (UNI) Newly- elected JD(S) Legislators will meet here tomorrow to elect their leader besides reviewing the party debacle at the hustings.
Party state working President C Narayanaswamy told newspersons that party President H D Deve Gowda has asked the state unit President Mirajuddin Patel to continue in post, rejecting the resignation letter submitted soon after his defeat from Humnabad.
The JD(S) could secure only 28 seats in the Assembly elections, 30 short of its achievement in 2004 election.
Replying to questions Mr Narayanaswamy said there is no proposal before the party to join hands with Congress and try to form Government, after taking support of independents.
On the party's failure Mr Narayanaswamy said the party could not match the resources strength of the other parties. Confusion in handing over power to its coalition partner BJP last year was also a factor which worked negative to the JD(S), he added.
''The BJP leaders' successful efforts in taking total credit of the performances of the JD(S)-BJP coalition Government also went against party's prospect,'' he added.
