BJPLP elects BSY as its leader

Bangalore, May 26 (UNI) BJP today elected B S Yaddyurappa unanimously the leader of legislature party today.

Mr Yaddyurappa told reporters that the party legislators had elected him unanimously to lead the party and stake claim to form the new government in the state.

The meeting also adopted a resolution in this regard.

He said the party had already sought the timing from Governor Rameshwar Thakur today iteself for forming the government.

"We would meet the Governor today itself and have asked the timing at 2000 hrs today," he said.

The party had attained the magical figure for forming the government with two independants extending the support to the party, he said adding they are Shivaraj Thangadagi from Kanakagiri and Gulihatti Shekhar from Hosadurg.

"In all five indepedants had shown interest in extending the support to the party with three more likely to join it later tonight," he said.

He said the party is committed to implement the promises made in its manifesto and would work for the development of all sections of people.

"The party would work for the development of the state taking the manifesto as a guiding light," he said.
