About a dozen houses damaged in shooting stones in north Kashmir
Srinagar May 26 (UNI) About a dozen houses were damaged due to heavy rains and shooting stones in border tehsil of Uri in north Kashmir last evening, official sources said.
They said the entire Uri belt in Baramulla district experienced heavy rains, triggering shooting in village Sarai Banday and Kamal Kote.
Sources said about half a dozen houses were damaged due to shtooting stones. However, no one was injured as inmates had left their houses minutes before the incident.
People in the Kashmir valley are experiencing heavy rains followed by hailstorm and strong winds during evening hours almost daily, damaging fruit and other crops besides about two dozen houses during the past two weeks.
