3 killed, 1 injured in collision

Burdwan, May 26 (UNI) Three members of a family were killed and another was seriously injured when a train hit their car at an unmanned level crossing at Simultala on the Katwa-Howrah railway section today.

Police said the family was travelling from Kolkata to Katwa in their car and the accident occurred when the Katwa local hit the vehicle at the unmanned level crossing.

The father and the mother were killed on the spot while the daughter died on way to the Katwa Sub-Divisional Hospital. The son was battling for his life in hospital.

The bodies had been sent for post-mortem, police said, adding that an investigation was started.
