Advani to launch Vikas Yatra in naxal-affected Dantewara tomorrow
Dantewara, Chhattisgarh, May 22 (UNI) Amid tight security arrangements, senior BJP leader L K Advani will launch the first phase of 'Vikas Yatra' in Naxalite-affected Dantewara district of Chhattisgarh tomorrow.
Official sources said Chief Minister Raman Singh, several state ministers and people's representatives would be present.
After reaching Dantewara, Mr Advani would launch the ''Yatra' apart from inaugurating and laying foundation of several schemes worth several crores of rupees before returning.
Sources said the BJP government has decided to start the 'Vikas Yatra' with the objective of making people aware of achievements made during its rule. The first phase will begin at Dantewara district and culminate at Rajnandgaon district on May 26.
Jagdalpur would be the first halt of the 'Yatra' where he would reach from Dantewara tomorrow. Security measures are in place at public meeting spots along the 70 km route.
The Chief Minister would traverse a distance of about 900 km in the past four days and hold about several public meetings. Tight security measures are in place in view of the 'Vikas Yatra'. Dr Singh would travel in bullet-proof vehicle.
Security and CRPF personnel have been deployed and vigil is being maintained in 20 km radius around the route of the 'Vikas Yatra'. No unidentified person or vehicle would be allowed in the CM's cavalcade.
