Canadian High Commissioner shows interest in Gurgaon
Chandigarh, May 21(UNI) Canadian High Commissioner, Mr David Malone today described Gurgaon as "India's future" and said that Canadian entrepreneurs were impressed with the city and were interested in investing in Haryana.
Mr Malone, who made a courtesy call on Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda here today said that Canadian automobile industry was aware of Haryana's success in automobile sector. He was also all praise for Haryana's achievements in agriculture sector.
Mr Malone also referred to Haryana's economic success under the leadership of Mr Hooda and said "I am confident, Haryana delivers what it promises". He said that he was glad as Chandigarh would also have an international airport.
Mr Hooda said that when he assumed the office of Chief Minister about three years ago, Haryana was at the 14th spot in per capita investment but in last three years it had shot up to number one with highest per capita investment in the country.
Mr Hooda said that with a view to supply adequate power to consumers in the State, the Government had taken effective steps to increase generation capacity of power.
Those present on the occasion included Chief Secretary, Mr Dharam Vir, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Mr M L Tayal, Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary Industries and Commerce and IT, Mr P K Chaudhery and Managing Director, Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation, Mr Rajeev Arora.
