Lower temperature and cooler breeze bring respite to Kolkatans

Kolkata, May 20 (UNI) Cloudy sky and last night's rainfall kept the day cool, but Met office expects more rainfall and thundershowers later tonight.

While rainfall in the last 24 hours was recorded at 3.2 mm, Met officials here at Alipore said, '' We can expect more rainfall tonight with the maximum temperature in the city hovering around 35 degree Celsius. '' The Met office recorded a maximim temperature of 34.6 degree Celsius and a minimum of 24.1 degree Celsius, three degree below normal.

The officials here said the rainfall had considerably lowered the temperature in the city as well as the entire state.

Thundersquall with speed reaching between 50 and 60 kmph is likely to occur in isolated parts of West Bengal in the next 48 hours.
