CPI(M) urges Centre to correct price policies

Kannur, May 15 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (Marxist) in Kerala today demanded the Centre to correct its wrong policies which has led to the price hike of essential commodities.

Inaugurating a picketing at the Head Post office here, CPI(M) State Secretary Pinarayi Vijayan said the party would intensify its agitation if the Centre did not correct its mistakes.

The CPI (M) also demanded to reinstate the PDS quota of rice for Kerala.

The food crisis in the state was due to the wrong policies of United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government, he said.

He charged the UPA government with trying to help monopolists for hoarding food grains.
