ECR cancels several trains in Bihar during tomorrow's Maoist bandh
Patna, May 14 (UNI) East Central Railway tonight announced the cancellation and diversion of routes of several trains from here in the wake of tomorrow's 24 hour North Bihar bandh call by the CPI Maoists.
ECR sources here informed that a number of long distance trains passing through or originating in Bihar and Jharkhand had either been cancelled or diverted tommorrow as a preventive measure.
Accordingly, the sources said, 3347 Barkakana-Palamou Express, 3348 Patna-Barkana Express, 629 Dehri-On-Sone-Barwadi Passenger and several other trains had been cancelled, while 1448 Howrah-Jabalpur Mail, 8612 Benaras-Ranchi Express, 8611 Ranchi-Varanasi Express and several other trains passing through North Bihar had been diverted through different routes.
Security in all trains running through diverted routes had also been intensifed, the sources added.
