26-year-old woman makes immolation bid near President's House
New Delhi, May 12 (UNI) A 26-year-old woman was seriously burnt after she attempted immolation near the Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi district this evening.
Sangeeta, who hailed from Farrukhabad in Uttar Pradesh, poured kerosene and set herself on fire on Dalhousie Road behind Rashtrapati Bhawan at about 1430 hrs, according to a police official.
She was caught by the security personnel deployed there and a PCR van rushed her to the RML hospital.
The woman was later referred to the Safdarjung Hospital with 98 per cent burns where her conditionn is said to be serious, the official said.
She was depressed and not very happy with her family life, he said.
Her husband Rajendra works with the Army and they often had quarrels, the official added.
