One has to be ready to give or take life for independence: Rupala

Surat, May 11 (UNI) Gujarat BJP President Purshottam Rupala today observed that independence is not attained only on the basis of 'Raghupati Raja Ram' Bhajan.

Speaking on the occasion of ''Shahidi Naman Pranamanjali Programme'' here, Mr Rupala said one has to sacrifice his or her life for the purpose of attaining independence and, if necessary, has to chop off one's head, if it was creating a barrier in the way.

He said till now every Union Government has ignored many freedom fighters for one or the other reason. There is Kirti Stamb at Dwarka, bearing the name of an English officer, while there is absence of any monument reminding the people of the local freedom fighters.

''Today, the country is facing threats due to lack of internal intelligence,'' he added.
