Fight against terrorism, Naxalism: Modi tells K'taka youth
Davangere, May 11 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today called on the youth in Karnataka to fight against the spread of terror networks and naxalism in the state.
Speaking at an election meeting for the second phase of elections to be held in central parts of Karnataka on May 16, he said it was disturbing that terrorists and naxals were raising their ugly heads in a peaceful state like Karnataka.
"We will not let these anti-social elements drop roots in Gujarat. If they throw a brick we will throw stones at them. This is how it should be fought," he said.
Mr Modi said assembly elections in the state had the potential of deciding the fate of the national politics in near terms. "This election may lead to a hasty call for Parliamentary polls," he said.
Continuing its diatribe against the UPA government, he said the Centre had put the country in 'great distress' due to its 'inept' handling of the economy.
"Congress leaders criticise Gujarat model. Look what they have achieved in the centre. They have been a disaster. Gujarat model of development will work in Karnataka and we will implement it. For this we need your support," he said.
He said the UPA government's was losing hold on the administration and this was evident on the 'divergent' views of its leaders on inflation and price rise, he alleged.
