Vidarbha sizzles, Chandrapur hottest in country

Nagpur, May 9 (UNI) Vidarbha region of Maharashtra continued to reel under a blistering heat wave with Chandrapur today recording temperature of 44.6 degrees Celsius, making it the hottest place in the country.

Khamgao registered a temperature of 44 degrees C, followed by Nagpur city 42.6 degrees C, Yavatmal with 40.8 degrees C, Washim 40 degrees C and Buldhana with 39 degrees C, the weatherman here said.

The streets wore a deserted look in the region as people stayed indoors in the scorching heat.
