Asta Mutt seer campaigns for Congress

Udupi, May 8 (UNI) In a rare instance, a swamiji of one of the Asta mutts (eight Mutts) of Udupi has joined election campaigning in support of a candidate belonging to Congress party.

Sri Laxmivara Thirtha Swamiji of Shiroor Mutt accompanied Pramod Madhwaraj of Congress who is the son of Udupi BJP MP Manorama Madhwaraj in the door-to-door campaign in Malpe and Padukere seeking votes from the residents in favour of Mr. Pramod.

The swamiji during his interactions with the voters of the locality said that Mr. Pramod was a gentleman and the voters would get good work from him if he was elected.

Mr Pramod not only should become a MLA but also a minister in the next congress government, he said.

Pleasantly surprised to see the seer at their doorstep people of the two villages offered respects to the seer.
