Jammu, May 7 (UNI) In a bid to keep check on anti-social elements and women harassmentthe Jammu and Kashmir Police today launched a special drive against ''eve-teasers''.

Police said taking a serious note after complaints were received from different areas of Jammu city, the initiative was take by the police and a strict vigil was being kept on the elements involved in eve-teasing and female harassment.

''Around 40 eve-teasers were rounded up and 12 cases under section 294 of the RPC have been registered in different city police stations for the past 24 hours,'' a senior police official told UNI.

Meanwhile all police stations have been instructed to continue the drive and locals have been appealed to co-operate the police by informing about the presence of miscreants in any area of locality.
