Air Marshal K D Singh donates blood

Gandhinagar, Apr 28 (UNI) Air Marshal K D Singh, AVSM AOC-in-C of the South Western Air Command (SWAC), was the first official to donate blood in a blood donation camp organised by AFWWA here today.

The camp was organised by the Station Medicare Centre of HQ SWAC, under the aegis of Air Force Wives Welfare Assocation (Regional), in collaboration with Dr Jeevraj Mehta Hospital.

In her inaugural speech, Neelam Singh, president of AFWWA (R), said there was a need for the ladies also to contribute to the needs of society.

''Hence, we organised blood donation camp for society,'' she informed.

She said a large number of defence personnel and their family members turned up for donating blood. Before taking their blood, their medical history was examined and relevent blood tests were taken to evaluate their fitness to donate blood.
