Srinagar, Apr 27 (UNI) Hailing Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's annoncement of package for widows and orphans of Jammu and Kashmir, Minister for Social Welfare Abdul Gani Vakil said this would help their rehabilitation and welfare.

He said increase in honorarium and aid to most deserving sections of the society would provide much needed help to them.

There are thousands of widows and orphans in the Jammu and Kashmir.

Mr Vakil also welcomed the announcing of package for Kashmiri pandit migrants, Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) refugees and said it would open vistas for development of these sections.

He said Congress party had all along been endeavoring for providing succor and relief to the people besides carrying out development activities across the State.
