RS adjourned till 1400 hrs after NDA uproar on price rise

New Delhi, Apr 24 (UNI) The Rajya Sabha was today adjourned till 1400 hrs after members of the BJP-led NDA caused an uproar in the House on the issue of price rise.

Shouting slogans against the UPA Government and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the NDA members, who entered the house just before the conclusion of the Question Hour, stalled proceedings.

Chairman Hamid Ansari's repeated pleas to the NDA members to maintain order and allow the Question hour to proceed fell on deaf ears as the Opposition members, led by senior BJP leaders Sushma Swaraj and Rajnath Singh, shouted slogans 'Yeh Sarkar Nikammi Hai' and 'Manmohan Singh Hai Hai'.

They also demanded a reply from the Prime Minister, who was present in the House, on the issue of price rise.

After stating that the members were indulging in disorderly conduct, the Chair adjourned the House till 1400 hrs.
