Stray dogs turn 'saviour' of abandoned baby girl
Samastipur, Apr 22 (UNI) Life imitated fiction when some stray dogs turned out to be a 'saviour' of a newborn girl abandoned by her mother in a village of Bihar.
The baby's mother had apparently left her on a mound of mud to meet natural death at Khutauna Tola, in Narhar village of this district last night.
On hearing the unusual barking of dogs, villagers flocked there and were stunned to see the baby being guarded by three dogs.
Reports said an unknown woman, after giving birth to the girl, disappeared leaving her on the mound of mud.
Later, three stray dogs roaming there saw her and began to bark.
They sat around her to guard her. Hearing the babys cries and the barking of the dogs, the locals reached the spot.
Fortunately, the child also found a benefactor in a local woman who adopted her.
